Riley, a retired School Principal, is a Co. Antrim man and our singer. He also plays Guitar & Mandolin and is fond of singing songs from the local Sam Henry collection.
Piano Accordion
Steven is another Co. Antrim man and as well as playing his Piano Accordion with Scad the Beggars, he also runs his own Ceili Band - 'Dancin' Digits'.
Whistles & Oboe
As well as playing Whistle & Oboe with Scad the Beggars Deborah, who is from Coleraine, also plays in a local orchestra.
Northumbrian Pipes, Harmonica & Low Whistle.
Co. Antrim man, Sam, took up the Northumbrian Pipes while living & working in the north of England. With his pipes being pitched in F, we often play & sing in that key.
Harp & Fife.
Originally from Schleswig-Holstein in northern Germany, founding member Sabine, who plays Harp & Fife, met husband Dick while he was working as a musician in West Berlin and has lived in Scotland & Northern Ireland now for almost 40 years.
Fiddle, Hammered Dulcimer, English Concertina & Tenor Banjo.
Founding member Dick Glasgow, from Edinburgh, enjoys being able to promote the wonderful sound of the Hammered Dulcimer with Scad the Beggars, an instrument long associated with Co. Antrim.
